*VIDEO* Traffic Investigators Seeking Info for Fatal Hit & Run, White Truck vs. Pedestrian on Lancaster Blvd 08/04/18

Traffic investigators from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances of a fatal hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian. The collision occurred on Saturday, August, 04, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m., at the intersection of Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue, in the City of Lancaster.

Detectives have learned the male adult victim was standing in the street on Lancaster Boulevard talking to the occupants of a black sedan which was parked on the south curb line. A full-size white truck, late model Chevrolet or GMC possibly 2500 or 3500, was driving east on Lancaster Boulevard at speeds in excess of the posted 15mph speed limit. The truck struck the victim, stopped momentarily and then sped away from the scene driving east bound, towards Sierra Highway.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.

Traffic investigators interviewed witnesses at the scene, the witnesses were not able to get a license plate for the truck.  Lancaster Station Traffic Investigators need the public’s assistance to locate the white truck and identify the driver. Attached is a flyer with a still shot photo from surveillance cameras nearby.

Investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact the Traffic Investigator Detective Ryan Bodily at Lancaster Sheriff Station by calling 661-940-3811.
