Information Only
Location: 2000 Block of Newhall Street

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call from a reporting party who heard a person calling for help from inside a residence on the 2000 block of Newhall Street.
Upon arrival, the officer heard a faint voice inside a locked residence. The officer breached the front door and found an elderly male lying on his bed. The Santa Clara Fire Department was summoned to the scene to provide the subject with medical attention.

Grand Theft
Location: 3000 Block of Humbolt Avenue

An officer was dispatched to the 3000 block of Humbolt Avenue on the report of a prior theft.
The victims reported over $6,000 in property stolen after their live-in nanny quit her job without notice. The suspect left the victims an apology note.
An investigation revealed the suspect may have boarded a Greyhound bus out of San Francisco bound for New York. The officer was attempting to intercept the suspect at the bus depot along the route without success.

Suspicious Circumstances
Location: 2800 Block of Mead Avenue

A Community Service Officer responded to a business on the 2800 block of Mead Avenue on the report of found property.
Upon accepting the found property, the CSO became concerned after reading the warning label on the package. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was called out to retrieve the item. Bomb technicians confirmed the item was a professional grade pyrotechnic device, which they took possession of for destruction.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: Flora Vista Avenue and Angelina Drive

An officer was deployed to Flora Vista Avenue at Angelina Drive on the report of a male suspect who lost control of his vehicle and struck two parked vehicles.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the male suspect who displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The suspect failed to satisfactorily perform any of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. A preliminary alcohol screening measured 0.371 and 0.370 blood alcohol content. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Residential Burglary
Location: 2200 Block of Monroe Street

A residential burglary occurred on the 2200 block of Monroe Street on 8/7/18 between 0905 hours and 1830 hours.
The victim returned home to find the residence disturbed and several items missing, including cash and electronics, estimated at $4,350. The unknown suspect(s) appeared to gain entry through a window. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Drug Possession
Location: 2800 Block of Augustine Drive

An officer on patrol observed a female subject walking through several dark business parking lots on the 2800 block of Augustine Drive. The officer made contact with subject to determine if she needed assistance.
The subject informed the officer that she was meeting her boyfriend. A Records check of the male suspect revealed he had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Shortly thereafter, the suspect arrived to the location and was contacted by the officer. A search of his person yielded a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Suspicious Circumstances
Location: 2000 Block of El Camino Real

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious male subject loitering around parked cars on the 2000 block of El Camino Real. The reporting party has seen SCPD’s recent news items regarding thefts from vehicles and reporting suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, an officer attempted to make contact with a subject matching the reporting party’s description when the subject fled on foot. Additional officers responded, however the subject was not located. It was determined no crimes had been committed in the parking lot however, SCPD was appreciative of the call and opportunity to research the matter further.

Robbery
Location: 2800 Block of El Camino Real

An officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of El Camino Real on the report of a robbery.
Upon arrival, the officer learned a victim was approached by a male suspect in a vehicle occupied with a female suspect and three young children. The suspect asked the victim to borrow some money. As the discussion continued, the suspect offered a Rolex watch to the victim as collateral. Eventually, the victim agreed and drove the suspect to a local bank to withdraw $4,000.00 for the loan.
Once the victim and suspect returned to the location of their initial contact, the suspect grabbed the envelope with the money and drove off. The suspect remains at large.

Armed Robbery
Location: 1500 Block of Pomeroy Avenue

Three unknown hooded suspects entered the unlocked back door of a business on the 1500 block of Pomeroy Avenue. The suspect committed an armed robbery of the business owners. One of the suspects muzzle punched the victim in the head.
The suspects fled in a vehicle with approximately $3,000 in cash and victims' cell phones. The suspects remain at large.

Burglary
Location: 1900 Block of Lafayette Street

Between 8/05/18 at approximately 0700 hours and 8/06/18 at approximately 1245 hours, a burglary occurred at a public storage location. The unknown suspect(s) cut the pad lock to the victim's storage locker and entered inside. Once inside, the unknown suspect(s) stole numerous electronic items as well as work tools from inside. The suspect(s) are unknown and remain at large.
