INCIDENT: Solicitation for Prostitution

LOCATION: 1000 Block of G St. San Bernardino

SUSPECT(S): Six male adult suspects, ranging in age from 29-70 years of age and all residents of San Bernardino County.

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 9, 2018, at about 3:00 pm, the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force, in a combined effort with officers from the San Bernardino Police Department, conducted a street level "John" operation. The operation is an ongoing effort through heavy presence and enforcement, to suppress prostitution in the downtown area of San Bernardino by targeting purchasers (Johns). During the operation, an undercover officer was deployed in the area to pose as a prostitute. While in the area, the officer was approached and solicited for acts of prostituion by several male suspects, resulting in their arrests by uniformed police officers. The suspects were transported to the San Bernardino Police Department for interview and processing. Ultimately, all six suspects were transported and booked at San Bernardino Central Detention Center for violation of PC 647(b)(2)- (Sex Buyer) Solicitation for Prostitution.

The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, San Bernardino Police Department, Ontario Police Department, San Bernardino Unified School District Police, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
