Flash Flood Warning until 12:30PM

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Ocean County in southern New Jersey... Northeastern Burlington County in southern New Jersey... Southeastern Monmouth County in central New Jersey...

* Until 1230 PM EDT.

* At 827 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Localized amounts of 2 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen in Ocean County, southern portions of Monmouth County and western portions of Burlington County. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in the areas of heaviest rain.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include... Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell, Barnegat, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Tuckerton, Presidential Lakes Estates, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Pemberton, Farmingdale, Surf City and Wrightstown. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area, especially in Ocean and Monmouth Counties.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MONMOUTH, NJ ... BURLINGTON, NJ ... OCEAN, NJ

Instructions:

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
