Incident: DUI Driver Arrested
Additional: 23152(b) VC
Report Number: 18-3719
Occurred Date: August 12, 2018
Occurred Time: 9:56 PM
Location: Adobe and Frates Roads
Suspect(s): Austin Pace, 22 year old Napa resident
Petaluma PD received a citizen report of a possible DUI driver. The reporting party described following a vehicle through Petaluma after watching it driving slowly, running into curbs, and having exaggerated turning movements. The reporting party provided the vehicle plate and reported the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of Adobe Road near Frates Road.
An officer arrived and saw the vehicle beginning to drive away. A traffic enforcement stopped was initiated and the driver, Austin Pace, was contacted. He admitted to drinking and displayed obvious signs of intoxication. Subsequent field sobriety tests eventually led to his arrest for DUI, which was his second. His blood alcohol was almost three times the legal limit of .08%. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
The Petaluma PD strongly encourages those who suspect someone is possibly DUI to call 9-1-1 immediately and provide driving observations, vehicle description, a license plate, and updated location(s). Unfortunately, DUI continues to plague our roadways and pose imminent safety concerns.
