Grand Opening – Mountain Ranch Public Safety Sub-Station

Sheriff Rick Dibasilio is excited to announce the grand opening of the Mountain Ranch Public Safety Sub-Station today. Located at 7869 Whiskey Slide Road at the Mountain Ranch Community Park, this office is a joint venture between the Sheriff’s Office, Central Calaveras Fire Protection District, and the Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance and Resource Center. At today’s ribbon cutting grand opening ceremony, District Supervisor Jack Garamendi talked about the Butte Fire disaster by saying “It’s a community that has to rebuild itself” and how having this office available to this community is another positive step in the right direction.
Sheriff Rick Dibasilio told the crowd in attendance today that although having a Sheriff Sub-Station is not new to the town of Mountain Ranch, this new sub-station is a place where community members can meet with patrol deputies or it is also a place to go and have access to a computer in order to file on-line crime reports and access other on-line governmental assistance. Sheriff Dibasilio thanked the many Sheriff Volunteers who staff our sub-stations and he encouraged any community members who are interested in becoming a Volunteer to call the Sheriff’s Office for more information. The schedule for when Sheriff Volunteers will be at the new Mountain Ranch Public Safety Sub-Station is forthcoming.
Chief Jeff Stone with Central Calaveras Fire District said that this office increases their ability to reach out to the Mountain Ranch Community. The Public Safety Sub-Station will be staffed with fire department personnel on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 12pm. Community members can get information on disaster preparedness, reflective address signs, fire safety information, fuel reduction programs, and learn more about the free senior firewood program.
Alison Charter-Smith with the Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance, who was instrumental in planning and organizing the opening of this office, also thanked the Resource Connection for allowing this office to share building space with the Mountain Ranch Resource Center’s Food Bank.
