National Night Out a Tremendous Success! Thousands enjoyed the event.

Chief Raymond Hayducka would like to thank all of the residents, businesses, vendors, and volunteers who supported our National Night Out (NNO) event.  Over six thousand people attended this year’s event to bring the police department and community together.  Staff and volunteers served approximately twenty nine hundred hot dogs, fifteen hundred bottles of water, one thousand ice pops, and two thousand bags of popcorn and chips.  Attendees enjoyed music and dance by several South Brunswick High School dance clubs, the Dance Storm performers, the Elephant Talk band, and were provided with entertainment, engaging displays, rides, and giveaways.

This year’s National Night Out also showcased resources from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Agents from the FBI gave tours of their Mobile Command Center and SWAT vehicle.  FBI K9 “Hoover” also put on a demonstration for the crowd on locating a suspicious package.

Chief Raymond Hayducka expressed his gratitude regarding the special partnership between the South Brunswick Police Department and the community.  “Special events like this truly showcase the unique and special bond our community and Police Department share.  We take great pride in serving and protecting the residents of South Brunswick and tonight they showed us their support and appreciation.  This special community and Police partnership helps continue to make our Township a safer place to live.”

In addition, Chief Hayducka would like to specifically recognize the following local businesses for their extremely generous donations in support of this event: Pierre’s Restaurant for providing and preparing over 2,500 hot dogs and veggie dogs, Eno Terra Restaurant for providing 600 ice creams, Wakefern for providing snacks and food supplies, High Grade Beverage for providing a soda truck, Regal Commerce Center Stadium 18 for providing popcorn, Zinna’s Bistro for providing a food truck, Quick Chek for providing food samples, Costco for providing over 3,000 hot dog buns, Richard Abrams - Century 21 Realtors and Wawa of Kendall Park helped sponsor the rides and bounce house, and Coca-Cola for providing beverages.

Chief Hayducka said, “It’s efforts like Pierre’s and Eno Terra that highlight what a supportive business community we have.  This night would not be possible without their help.”

Overall, the event was a tremendous success and is proof of the strong partnership between the South Brunswick Police Department and this community, in order to combat crime.
