Drivers are advised that Cherry Street will be closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing between Thornton Avenue and Central Avenue from Thursday morning, August 9th to Friday, August 10th. Drivers on Cherry Street and surrounding roadways should anticipate minor delays during the closure.
Detour signs will be in place directing drivers to alternate routes. Access will be maintained at all times to local residents and businesses on Cherry Street and the surrounding area, including the Post Office on Clark Avenue.
The closure is necessary to allow Union Pacific Railroad to perform repair work on their tracks.
