Pomona Police Respond To A Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train

On August 8th at 3:37 AM, Pomona Police Dispatch received a call of a pedestrian struck by a train on the tracks located west of Humane Way and south of Pomona Blvd. When officers arrived on scene they, alongside the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and Union Pacific Railroad Police, conducted an extensive area search for the victim. Following the search, the victim was located deceased near the area of the collision.
A short distance from where the victim was located, an unoccupied vehicle was also located on the tracks. Union Pacific Police is currently investigating whether the vehicle is related to the victim. The victim's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
This incident is being investigated by the Union Pacific Police Department.
