Specialized Detectives are conducting a murder investigation at Central Detention Center 
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, August 1, 2018 5:23 p.m.
INCIDENT: Murder Investigation
LOCATION: Central Detention Center, 630 Rialto Ave., San Bernardino
SUSPECT: Samuel Amador, 38 years old, Central Detention Center inmate
VICTIM: Adult male, Central Detention Center inmate – Name withheld, family notification pending
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 5:23 p.m. deputies assigned to Central Detention Center found an inmate unresponsive in a cell. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased at 6:40 p.m.
Specialized Detectives from the Homicide Detail responded to conduct the in-custody death investigation. Following an extensive investigation, Detectives determined that Samuel Amador coerced the victim into his cell and once inside, he murdered him.
Riverside County Coroner will conduct the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Samuel Amador was arrested on August 24, 2013 and booked for Murder, Parole violation and numerous misdemeanor charges.
