Advisory

SLO PD seeking the publics assistance in helping to identify additional victims of Arthur Rocha

MEDIA RELEASE

WHAT: Update on Arrest of Arthur ROCHA

WHERE: City of Arroyo Grande

WHEN: August 2nd, 2018

DEPARTMENT CONTACT: Lieutenant John Bledsoe

After the arrest of Arthur Rocha on Thursday August 2nd, 2018 San Luis Obispo Police Detectives served a search warrant at his residence in the 900 block of Dodson Way in the City of Arroyo Grande. A search of his vehicle, a white 2016 Nissan Altima, was also completed. During these searches detectives found numerous items of woman’s clothing, primarily undergarments, jewelry, and photographs. Based on the items found, detectives believe Rocha may be involved in residential burglaries throughout San Luis Obispo County.

In the two sexual assaults which recently took place in San Luis Obispo, we believe Rocha cut the screen on exterior windows to make entry into the residences. In Rocha’s vehicle, Detectives found two magnetic photographs of young women that appeared to be in their 20’s. One of the photographs depicts four women standing outside on the rear balcony of what appears to be the Ventana Grill in Pismo Beach. It is unknown at this time if the women in these photographs are known to Rocha or if the photographs were stolen. Detectives would like to identify the women in this photograph and their relationship to Rocha. (See attached Photograph)

Arthur Rocha was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on Thursday August 2nd for numerous Felony charges including Residential Burglary. His bail was set at one million dollars. The San Luis Obispo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to come forward if they have any additional information on Rocha. We believe Rocha may be responsible for additional crimes in SLO County involving burglaries. Also, anyone who believes they may have been one of Rocha’s victims in any other crimes are encouraged to notify SLO PD, your local law enforcement agency, or Crime Stoppers. Anyone reporting information can keep their identity anonymous.
