Stabbing suspect located and arrested - Case #18-1702

On August 2, 2018, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Menlo Park Police Investigations Unit arrested a suspect from an assault with a deadly weapon/stabbing incident that took place on July 3, 2018. Hector Landa-Gomes, a 21 year old East Palo Alto resident, was located on the 300 block of East O’Keefe St. in East Palo Alto.

Landa-Gomes was wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on July 3 in the parking lot of 732 Willow Road in Menlo Park at around 5:30 pm. Landa-Gomes walked up to the victim who was seated inside a vehicle and stabbed him twice in the midsection with a sharp instrument. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and was later released.

Landa-Gomes was booked into the San Mateo County jail where he was charged with 245(a)(1) PC-Assault with a deadly weapon w/ great bodily injury.
