The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a
* Flood Warning for... Northeastern Monroe County in southeastern Michigan... Wayne County in southeastern Michigan...
* Until 900 AM EDT Wednesday.
* At 3 AM, heavy rainfall due to thunderstorms last night has produced a swath of excessive rainfall across the area. Spotter reports indicate between 2 inches and 3.5 inches fell across the area, within less than 2 hours. While additional rainfall is not expected this morning, it will take several hours for the rain that fell last night to recede.
* Some locations that will continue to experience flooding include... Livonia, Taylor, Romulus, Flat Rock, Carleton, Downtown Detroit, Detroit, Dearborn, Wyandotte, Trenton, Maybee, Greenfield Village, Westland, Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Allen Park, Garden City, Inkster and Hamtramck.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WAYNE, MI ... MONROE, MI

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall has caused flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
