July 23rd

Strong Arm Robbery, Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1400 and 1430 hours, the victim was in the soda aisle typing on her cell phone when a suspect walked by and grabbed her iPhone 7 out of her hand. The male suspect fled on foot from the business towards San Pablo Ave.

Auto Burglary, 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0735 hours, an unidentified suspect arrived in a vehicle, smashed a window, and stole a backpack.

Burglary, 1900 block of Junction Ave:
An unknown suspect entered an open garage sometime during the night and stole tools and a bicycle.

Controlled Substance Arrest, Junction Ave. / Conlon Ave.:
At 1506 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Dodge Neon. The driver, a 43-year-old Richmond woman, was driving without a license and was found to be in possession of several needles containing heroin. The passenger, a 30-year-old, Sebastopol woman was wanted on two misdemeanor warrants and had the personal identifying information of others. Both were booked and released on a citation.

July 24th

Shoplifter, 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 0902 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 32-year-old Vallejo man after he entered the business, concealed merchandise, and left without paying. He was taken into custody, booked, and released with a citation.

Vandalism, 6500 block of Hill St:
Between the evening of Friday 7/20 and the morning of Tuesday 7/24, an unknown suspect shattered the wing window of a vehicle.

Auto Burglary, Peet’s Coffee: 9895 San Pablo Ave
Between 0932 and 0940 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window and stole the victim’s purse.

Shoplifter, Luckys: 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1124 hours, an officer was checking out a parking violation when a Lucky’s employee notified him of a 46-year-old Richmond man who was stealing merchandise. The man was placed under citizen’s arrest, taken into custody, booked at the ECPD, and then released with a citation.

Disorderly conduct, CVS: 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At 1328 hours, an officer was dispatched to the report of an unwanted person who was yelling at security. The subject was located nearby and fought with officers upon being contacted. The man, who was heavily intoxicated, was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Commercial Burglary – Wing Stop, 340 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0506 hours, officers responded to a report of a broken window. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown suspect broke a window, entered the business, and stole cash.

Shoplifting – CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1943 hours, a CVS employee called to report a theft which just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and located a 48-year-old male from San Francisco on San Pablo Ave near Potrero Ave. The man was positively identified as the suspect, placed under citizen’s arrest, booked at the ECPD, and then released with a citation.

Strong Arm Robbery, Chevron, 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 2038 hours, officers responded to a 911 disconnect. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown suspect demanded the money from the register, but the clerk refused. The suspect, in turn, grabbed the register and threw it on the ground. Once the registered opened the suspect took the cash, and then fled.

July 25th

Auto Burglary - 512 EC Plaza:
Between 2200 hours on the 24th and 0800 hours on the 25th, an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a vehicle and stole a bicycle.

July 26th

Commercial Burglary – 10175 San Pablo Ave (Speed Oil Change):
At 0238 hours, two unknown suspects shattered a door to the business, entered, and then attempted to steal money from the safe.
Fraud – 10394 San Pablo Ave (California Check Cashing):
A 30-year-old Richmond man cashed a stolen check using his own driver license.

July 27th

Auto Burglary – Liberty St and Hill St:
At 1210 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a piece of smoking equipment.

Auto Burglary – Moeser Ln and Liberty St:
At 1307 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect forced open a window and removed paperwork and loose change.

Robbery – 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 1619 hours, an officer reports two subjects entered the business and ordered food. The suspects then got up and attempted to leave without paying for their meal. An employee tried to stop them, but one of the suspects pushed and then punched the employee. The suspects then fled the business.

Evading, DUI, and Obstruction – Macdonald Ave and Key Blvd:
At 1645 hours, an officer was flagged down regarding a road rage incident. The officer located the suspect vehicle which resulted in a slow speed pursuit. The suspect, a 66-year-old male from Richmond, eventually stopped in front of his home where he got out his vehicle and charged officers. The male was taken into custody and booked for driving while under the influence. Upon the completion of booking, the man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – 5200 block of Potrero Ave:
At 1930 hours, an officer reported that a suspect approached a female victim along the sidewalk and stole her purse. The suspect then entered a brown sedan which fled west on Potrero Avenue.
Warrant Arrest – 11500 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 2011 hours, an officer contacted a 37-year-old transient female who had several warrants for her arrest. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft – 1000 block of King Drive:
At 2237 hours, an officer reports the victim and suspect agreed to meet at this location to complete the private sale of a laptop. The suspect ran away with the computer without paying the victim.

Warrant Arrest, Possession of Controlled Substance, Probation Violation – Moeser Ln / San Pablo Ave:
At 0016 hours, an officer arrested a 33-year-old Richmond man for a warrant. A search of the subject yielded 3 grams of methamphetamine. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – Eastshore Blvd / Potrero Ave:
At 0050 hours, an officer arrested a 48-year-old transient man who had a warrant from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – Eastshore Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 0224 hours, an officer arrested a 33-year-old Berkeley man on a Berkeley PD warrant. The man was issued a citation with a new court date and released from the El Cerrito Police Department.

July 28th

Theft – 900 block of Seaview Dr:
At 0724 hours, an officer reports two suspects entered the victim’s yard and took a cement/asphalt compactor. The theft occurred sometime overnight.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave and Cutting Blvd:
At 1131 hours, an officer was dispatched to a welfare check. The officer arrived and contacted a 21-year-old male and discovered he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. The male was booked and then taken to county the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 1700 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 1505 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the residence which is under construction and took property. The theft occurred sometime overnight.

Residential Burglary – 6000 block of Avila Place:
At 1944 hours, an officer responded to a residence that is for sale and found that a suspect had entered the home and used the shower. Nothing was taken from the house and the actual time of the break-in is unknown.

Warrant Arrest – S. 55th Street / Potrero Ave:
At 1946 hours, an officer arrested a 58-year-old Richmond man on an El Cerrito PD warrant. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Domestic Battery – 10900 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 0055 hours, officers contacted the victim and learned that her ex-boyfriend hit her during an argument. The suspect left before the police arrived at the residence.

Warrant Arrest – Knott Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 0141 hours, an officer arrested a 36-year-old transient male on a warrant and transported him to the Martinez Detention Facility.

July 29th

Residential Burglary – 6100 block of Potrero Ave:
At 1854 hours, an officer responded to a report that someone had entered the victim’s residence by unknown means while they were away on vacation.

Burglary – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2138 hours, officers responded to a report of a subject who had kicked the front door of an apartment and then said: “Oh sorry, wrong apartment” when confronted by the occupants.

Burglary – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave:
Between 1700 hours on July 29th and 0320 hours on July 30th, an unidentified suspect kicked in an apartment door.

July 30th

Warrant Arrest – 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 1059 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 30-year-old male from Vallejo for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Trespass, Possession of a firearm/stolen firearm – 6100 block of Potrero Ave:
At 1333 hours, officers responded to a report of a 23-year-old male breaking into an apartment. The reporting parties saw the suspect get into a vehicle and flee the scene. Officers located the suspect a short distance away and detained him. A search of his car revealed he was in possession of a stolen firearm taken from the apartment. He was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Avenue (Safeway):
At 2343 hours, an officer contacted 25-year-old Rodeo man who had a warrant for sex crimes. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Resisting arrest with violence, battery and probation violation – Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Ave.
At 0026 hours, officers responded to the report of a battery. Upon the officers’ arrival, the victim pointed out the suspect. When officers went to contact him, he fought and attempted to headbutt officers. The man was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
