Yesterday, July 29, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) Gang Investigators locally acquired intelligence regarding an armed gang associate. Gang Investigators arrested Danny Kirkey, 49, Fullerton, at a motel located near Lincoln Avenue and Euclid Street in the City of Anaheim. At the time of the arrest, Gang Investigators seized an assault rifle, approximately $1,400 in cash, four ounces of methamphetamine, and approximately one ounce of heroin. Kirkey was initially booked at CMPD Jail before being booked at Orange County Jail in Santa Ana. Kirkey’s booking charges include an outstanding warrant for a probation violation, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of heroin for sale, and possession of methamphetamine for sale. Kirkey is currently on a no-bail hold.
