Update on the traffic collision that occurred on Saturday

Here’s the update on our Saturday tweet and text about a traffic collision:

On July 28, 2018, at about 10:50 a.m., officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at the 300 block of Ford Road. Officers located the stolen pick-up truck driving north on Harbor at Hamilton. After a short failure to yield, the suspect driver veered left and hit four vehicles traveling in the opposing southbound lanes. The collision occurred near the 2300 block of Harbor Boulevard between Fair and Wilson. The suspect driver, Destiney Nielson, 27, Costa Mesa, and her passenger, Jonathan Martinez, 21, Costa Mesa, complained of pain and were transported to a nearby hospital. The three victims involved sustained minor injuries and were also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Harbor Blvd. southbound was shut down for one hour due to this traffic collision. Nielson is being held on DUI, felony evasion, and stealing a vehicle. She was also a parolee at large and had a warrant out for her arrest. Martinez was cited and released at the hospital for minor drug related charges.
