INCIDENT: Residential Burglary

LOCATION: 7000 block of Cedarwood Pl., Highland

SUSPECT: Aaron Garcia, 21 years old, resident of Highland


SUMMARY:
On Friday, July 27th at 1:02 a.m. deputies received information from a Highland resident who was watching his neighbors house while they were out of town on vacation. The resident heard glass break and a male voice coming from their neighbors house and called law enforcement. When deputies arrived on scene they saw a Hispanic male adult about 5'09", 190 lbs., wearing a black hat, black sweater, and dark jeans inside the residence holding a large knife. As deputies made entry, the suspect fled upstairs and jumped out of a second story window.

During an area check for the suspect, deputies got into a foot pursuit with a man matching the description of the suspect seen inside the victim’s residence and detained him. Deputies identified the subject as Aaron Garcia and he was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction.

Once the burglary investigation is complete, including the analysis of evidence collected at the crime scene, the report will be submitted to the District Attorney for review and possible filing of additional criminal charges.
