Narrative:
On Thursday, July 26th, 2018, around 5:18 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were conducting high visibility patrol in the area of Dudley and Laurel due to the recent increase in gang activity. During their directed patrol, officers observed a white compact commit several vehicle code violations. Officers activated their emergency lights and audible siren to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle didn’t immediately yield.
Once the vehicle pulled over, the officers made contact with the driver, Adam Romero. Romero was found to have an outstanding parole warrant. When officers searched the vehicle, they recovered a loaded firearm and narcotics. Romero was arrested on the above listed charges and booked at the Pomona City jail.
The City of Pomona is dedicated to addressing quality of life issues. The Pomona Police Department will continue to take a “Zero Tolerance” approach to Gun related crimes.
