The City of Des Peres & surrounding agencies have received several reports of items being taken from motor vehicles overnight. 
The Department of Public Safety along with surrounding agencies have received several reports for items taken from motor vehicles. As always we want to remind everyone to take an extra minute to make sure your vehicles are locked and valuable items are secured. This also includes garage door remote controls (automatic car starters) as well as vehicle keys! Taking all items of value with you when you leave your vehicle is always the best practice. However, if you have to leave items of value in your vehicle make sure they are placed out of sight. This will assist in making your vehicle less desirable to would be thieves.
Please take time to remind your friends and family members as well. With your help we can lessen the number of possible victims by simply taking the opportunity out of the equation.
