For the past few months, West Windsor Township has been similar to other communities in regards to an uptick of Residential Burglaries. To update our Community in addition to our normal Police Blotter, Chief Garofalo wanted to issue a special notice to inform our residents. Since this is a time of many family vacations and day trips, Chief Garofalo is asking if everyone could take a few extra moments to ensure your residences & vehicles are secured while we look out for one another as well. In the recent cases, some of the homes had been secured while others had unlocked sliding glass doors, garage doors, etc. for easy access. On one occasion, residents were inside at the time the actor(s) entered the residence. However, there was no confrontation between the Burglar(s) and the residents. The time frames of these incidents have been during the later evening/early AM hours. We are asking that we all work as one collective unit and community to help our neighbors.
As always, our Officers are patrolling, Detectives, and Command Staff are driving through your neighborhoods at various hours of the day. The below listed cases are still open investigations and we apologize for not being able to share all information due to the potential of jeopardizing current or future operations by our Detective Bureau. Our number #1 priority is the safety of our residents. If anything at all seems out of place, please alert us immediately.
