Advisory

Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most New Jersey counties through late tonight. Rainfall rates of 1” to 2” per hour are possible.

Hazardous Weather Discussion
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most New Jersey counties through late tonight as a slow-moving front and low pressure system influence our weather. Showers and thunderstorms later today and tonight may produce heavy rain, tapering off after midnight. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect until 6 PM Thursday for Atlantic coastal waters. Rip current risk at beaches remains high through this evening.
Impacts to New Jersey
Heavy rainfall brings the risk of flash flooding. Rainfall rates of 1” to 2” per hour are possible and may cause flooding in urban areas, roadways, areas with poor drainage, and small creeks and streams. Today’s seas of 4 to 7 feet with wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots may create hazardous conditions for boaters, and rip currents can create dangerous swimming conditions.
