Heat Advisory until 07:00PM Monday
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 7 PM Sunday to 7 PM CDT Monday.
* TEMPERATURES...High temperatures ranging from 105 to 110 are expected this Sunday afternoon, then 102 to 104 degrees Monday afternoon.
* HEAT INDICES...Heat index values may reach 110 degrees Sunday afternoon, then 105 Monday afternoon.
* Impacts...Very hot conditions will increase the risk of heat related illnesses. An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of extremely hot conditions will occur. This is a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WISE ... HENDERSON ... COOKE ... DENTON ... MONTAGUE ... ANDERSON ... ROCKWALL ... KAUFMAN ... COLLIN ... JACK ... YOUNG ... GRAYSON ... VAN ZANDT
Instructions:
Be sure to check on persons with health problems and the elderly, as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle, even for a short time, as temperatures can quickly rise to life threatening levels. To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency - call 911.
