Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested; Handgun Recovered

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 10:30 pm a female employee of a restaurant in the Gateway Blvd area called her mother stating the restaurant was being robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by at least two suspects.  The terrified mother called Fairfield Police immediately to report the crime. Officers who responded to the restaurant confirmed with victims that a takeover-style robbery just occurred and the suspects left in a white full-size pick-up truck.

Two suspects used a female employee, returning from taking out the trash, to gain entry into the closed business.  Approximately ten employees were ordered to the ground and held in fear by the two armed suspects.

Officer Hamilton was in the area and quickly located a white truck matching the description leaving the area.  Additional Officers joined Hamilton and successfully stopped the vehicle on the 1200 block of Van Buren Street.

Three suspects in the truck were positively identified as being involved in the robbery.  The three arrested suspects were Enrique Maravilla, a 20 year old Davis resident and Armando Castenada, a 19 year old transient.  A 16 year old Vacaville juvenile was also taken into custody.  All three were booked for robbery, conspiracy, kidnapping, burglary, false imprisonment, assault with a firearm and illegal possession of a handgun.

No employees from the business were injured; however, they were visibly frightened due to the incident.

Thanks to the quick thinking and excellent information provided by the restaurant staff Fairfield Police Officers were able to take these violent offenders and one more illegally possessed gun off our streets.  This is another great example of our community working together with the men and women of the Fairfield Police Department to help apprehend violent criminals.

Photos of the suspects were not available at the time of this release.
