The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern Christian County in central Illinois... Shelby County in central Illinois...

* Until 1215 AM CDT.

* At 1122 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Pana, or 12 miles southeast of Taylorville, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Shelbyville, Pana, Assumption, Findlay, Cowden, Tower Hill, Westervelt, Herrick, Rosamond, Clarksburg, Owaneco, Oconee, Wolf Creek State Park, Mode and Eagle Creek State Park.

* AFFECTED AREAS: SHELBY, IL ... CHRISTIAN, IL

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
