The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas... Miami County in east central Kansas... Linn County in east central Kansas... Eastern Johnson County in east central Kansas... Cass County in west central Missouri... Bates County in west central Missouri... Southwestern Lafayette County in west central Missouri... Jackson County in west central Missouri... Western Johnson County in west central Missouri...

* Until 515 PM CDT.

* At 414 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Bonner Springs to Spring Hill to near Lone Elm, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit, Shawnee, Blue Springs, Lenexa, Leawood, Raytown, Liberty, Grandview, Belton, Prairie Village, Raymore, Grain Valley, Merriam, Harrisonville, Mission and Pleasant Hill. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 0 and 40. Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 418 and 423. Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 0 and 4. Interstate 35 in Kansas between mile markers 224 and 235. Interstate 635 between mile markers 0 and 10. Interstate 470 between mile markers 0 and 16. Interstate 435 between mile markers 57 and 82.
