Woman arrested for spray painting mural on City park building wall

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested for defacing three walls on a City park building located on the 27200 block of Seco Canyon Road, Saugus. On Tuesday, July 18, around 6:45 a.m., two citizens observed a woman standing next to a freshly painted mural on the outside of a park restroom building with spray paint cans around her. When the citizens made contact with her, the woman gathered up her belongings, and took off in her vehicle. A third citizen at the scene was able to get the license plate number of the woman’s vehicle as she took off.

Santa Clarita Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to the scene, and using the information provided by the citizens, began looking in the area for the suspect’s vehicle. One of the deputies found a vehicle matching the suspect’s description parked on Guadilamar Drive, a street just off of Seco Canyon Road. The deputy found that the vehicle was unoccupied. With the assistance of a sergeant and another deputy, door knocks were conducted at nearby residences. At one of the homes, deputies successfully located the suspect. While at the location, deputies also observed several stolen checks that were forged by the suspect. Deputies arrested the suspect Tiffany Thomas, 31, of Santa Clarita on felony vandalism and forgery charges.

Thank you to the citizens who noticed this suspicious activity, reported it, and deterred further criminal activity. If you see something, say something. It makes a difference. Call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121 to report suspicious activity or 9-1-1 if you see a crime in progress. By working together, we can keep our community safe!
