On Thursday, July 19^th from 7am to 11am, traffic enforcement officers from neighboring agencies within Alameda County will be assisting the San Leandro Police Department’s Traffic Division in educating the public and enforcing the traffic laws throughout the City of San Leandro. Each month a different jurisdiction hosts a similar event, known as HITT, or High Impact Traffic Team. This started about 10 years ago and was used to help agencies with high volume traffic areas or high volume complaint or collision locations. This month the San Leandro Police will be hosting the event, with an emphasis on education and pedestrian safety.
