The North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management advises residents that there is a risk of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall that could produce flash flooding.
The flood threat will be greatest where repeated storms occur over a single location, leading to localized rain totals of 1 to 2 inches or more. In addition to the flood threat, a few storms will approach severe limits, with damaging winds between 45 to 60 miles per hour.
The severe risk will be maximized mid to late afternoon as the initial storms advance into the region while the flood risk extends from mid-afternoon into the evening hours. Please use caution while driving during the evening rush hour.
Once the cold front crosses the area tonight, much lower humidity and fair weather are expected for the remainder of the week.
