2 Injured in Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 07/14/2018 at 1219 hrs, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on US 12 near Cassopolis Rd in Mason Township, Cass County Michigan. 65 yr old, Elkhart resident, Robert Postma, was at the intersection stopped when a vehicle driven by 19 yr old, Fayetteville West Virginia resident, Jacob Borsman, rear ended him. Mr. Borsman did not suffer any injuries. The collision did do damage to both vehicles. Mr. Postma had three other passenger's in the vehicle with him. His one passenger 67 yr old, Elkhart resident, Teresa Sapen had complaints of back and neck pain. Also another passenger 90 yr old, Elkhart resident, Robert Postma was complaining of back pains. Both Teresa and Robert were taken by ambulance to Elkhart General for treatment. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and seat belts were used.

Assisting were Porter Township Fire Department, Porter Ambulance, and Ontwa Edwardsburg Township Police Department.
