SUBJECT: Stabbing Suspect Arrested

On July 5th 2018 at around 6:15 pm Redwood City Police Department personnel were sent to a 9-1-1 call regarding a subject who was stabbed. The stabbing occurred at Denny’s Restaurant, 1201 Broadway, Redwood City. When the officers arrived they located the suspect, Francisco Legoretta (35), exiting the restaurant. He was detained without further incident.

Officers then responded inside the restaurant and located the victim, a 22 year old male, lying on the floor. The victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Redwood City Police officers quickly administered life saving measures to stem the bleeding. Redwood City Fire Department personnel and Paramedics took over the provision of medical treatment and the victim was rushed to an area hospital were emergency surgery was performed.
Redwood City Police Department Detectives, as well as and Property and Evidence personnel, responded to the scene to assist with interviews and evidence processing.
Legoretta was subsequently arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for charges of Attempted Murder.
