Our Department recently subscribed to an awareness program, titled Hide, Lock, Take (aka HLT). The message is pretty simple, reminding people in various ways to HIDE their things, LOCK their cars, and to TAKE their keys with them. Since its beginning, the HLT program is one of the most successful campaigns against auto crimes and vehicle break-ins nationwide. The Hide-Lock-Take program throughout the United States and Canada has reduced auto theft and vehicle break-ins by 85% (HLT.com). As the weather clears up you will start to see these signs appearing around the Township and within our residential complexes. See the sign, heed the warning... These signs will serve as a reminder to remove valuables and protect yourself from becoming a victim of burglary and theft to auto.
