*UPDATE* #LASD Century Detectives Arrest a Woman in the July 4th Assault of a 92yr old Man

Detectives assigned to Century Station arrested a woman who was alleged to be involved in the assault of a 92 year-old man on July 4, 2018.  The arrest was made Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:00 p.m., near 60th Street and Crenshaw Avenue, Los Angeles.
 
Deputies learned of an assault the night of July 4, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., in the area of East 118th Street and Robin Street, Unincorporated Los Angeles. They responded to a local hospital and took an assault report. The victim, 92 year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez, was ultimately released from the hospital to recover from his injuries at home with his family.  
 
Detectives began an extensive investigation into the assault. They obtained an arrest and search warrant for a suspect. Due to working every angle and lead in the case, it ultimately resulted in the arrest of Laquisha Jones without incident. 
 
Suspect, Laquisha Jones, female Black 30 years-old, and resident of Los Angeles, was booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail. 
 
The weapon has not been located.
 
A motive for the assault is unknown at this time.  
 
Investigators are still determining if there are more suspects involved. The investigation is ongoing.
 
Detectives are asking if anyone has any information related to this incident to come forward.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS:

On Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at 10:50 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Century Station deputy personnel responded to Martin Luther King Medical Center regarding a victim of an assault call. 
 
When Deputies arrived they learned that at approximately 7:30 p.m. the victim, a 92 year-old male, was in the area of East 118th Street and Robin Street, Unincorporated Los Angeles, when a female suspect and three to four male suspects assaulted him.  It is unknown if any weapons were used.
 
The victim was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital. 
 
The detectives have interviewed witnesses, and are reviewing all evidence.
