The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Southeastern St. James Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Northwestern Lafourche Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
* Until 345 PM CDT.
* At 243 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Thibodaux, North Vacherie, South Vacherie, Chackbay, Convent and Schriever.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LAFOURCHE ... ST. JAMES
Instructions:
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.
