Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 7/6/18, through Sunday, 7/8/18.

Good Monday afternoon! The following are calls for service for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 7/6/18, through Sunday, 7/8/18.

7/6/18

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Opdyke: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of loose cattle east of Opdyke near the highway. The cattle were located and the deputy assisted the owner in securing the livestock.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Assist Terry County SO. A deputy met a Terry County deputy to aid in a transport of an individual to the Lubbock County line. The deputy transported one individual to the county line.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy was dispatched to meet a complainant at the LEC regarding a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen, and had been recovered on a prior date.

-FM 1490 at McHam, Levelland: Fireworks. A deputy was dispatched to check the area related to a complaint of fireworks. The area was checked and none were observed. No other calls were received.

-3000 blk West Houston, Levelland: Fireworks. A deputy responded to the area related to a complaint of fireworks. The area was checked and none were located. No other calls were received.

-6700 blk FM 1585, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. A deputy stopped to check on a subject located on a property along the roadway. The information was logged and the individual was released. No offenses were reported.

-600 blk Koala Rd, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. No offenses were reported and civil remedies were advised to the complainant.

-1400 blk W. Ellis, Levelland: Medical Alert. A deputy was dispatched to a residence due to a medical alarm. EMS was notified and one individual refused treatment.

7/7/18

-FM 300 at FM 303, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. A trooper responded to conduct the crash investigation, and the deputy assisted on scence with traffic control as needed.

-200 blk 6th St, Whitharral: Animal Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a residence to meet with a complainant regarding a dog attacking a chicken. Remedies were advised to the complainant.

-1600 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a complaint of a suspicious vehicle, a black minivan, driving in the area. The area was checked and no vehicle matching the description was located. No offenses were reported.

-6500 blk Oxen Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to the area related to a suspicious person near the residence. The area was checked and no one was located. No offenses were reported and no other calls were received.

-200 blk Avenue X, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy was dispatched to check on an individual at a residence in the area. The individual was contacted and no offenses were observed or reported.

7/8/18

-300 blk E. 8th St, Anton: Harassment. A deputy contacted a complainant regarding a harassment issue over text message. An individual reported receiving numerous text messages from an unknown individual. The deputy was later advised the complainant found the person responsible and refused to pursue any criminal charges. Information was collected for a report on the incident.

-FM 301 near Sagebrush, Sundown: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of several loose cows in the area. They were located and secured on the property.

-200 blk Robinson Circle, Smyer: Threat. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to a threat with a firearm. During the investigation it was determined no offenses had occurred, and information was taken related to the incident. Parties were separated.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to the area related to a complaint of an individual repeatedly driving near a residence. The area was checked and the individual was not located.

-2nd St at Avenue H, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a combative subject. The individual was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Levelland PD handled the investigation into the complaint.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up, and traffic enforcement activities.
