It's going to be a scorching weekend AV! Here's info on cooling centers in the City of Lancaster! 
It's going to be a HOT weekend Antelope Valley!
With temperatures nearing 107' on Friday, 108' on Saturday and 105' on Sunday, we remind you to STAY COOL!
The City of Lancaster has several "cooling centers" available throughout Lancaster, available to any resident that needs to stay cool.
The Antelope Valley Senior Center located at 777 W. Jackman Street is open Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm and welcomes residents of all ages during the “cooling center” hours.
In addition, the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH) is also a designated cooling center. MOAH, is located at 665 West Lancaster Boulevard and is open 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
Another air conditioned option open to the public is the Lancaster Public Library. The library located at 601 West Lancaster Boulevard, is open Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. Plus, you can also enjoy all of the free summer programs and activities offered by the library.
Please remember, elderly residents tend to be at a higher risk of dehydration and heat stroke. That elderly neighbor that you wave to from time to time? Don't forget to check on them! Pay them a quick neighborly visit and make sure their AC is on, or offer them the information on the cooling centers!
