Advisory

Public Service announcement - Cal City - There will NOT be any city event/Fireworks display tonight

To all our citizens in Cal City:

There have been many inquiries and rumors about a city Fireworks display.

Due to our current fiscal emergency, there will NOT be any city fireworks display at Central Park this year.  There are several other cities that will have fireworks displays tonight.

Some media outlets may have inadvertently listed Cal City as one of the communities that was going to have a display. That was inaccurate information.

ON behalf of all of the remaining first responders from you Fire and Police Departments, we wish everyone a safe 4th of July. Please be watchful for hazards tonight including fires. Take extra caution with household pets as many may get startled from loud noises.

Our citiy’s Animal shelter volunteers will be available all day tomorrow to help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Many residents may be leaving for the holiday. Please help your neighbors and report any suspicious activity that you may observe.

Our city experiences a spike in the number of 9-1-1 calls on this evening each year. Non-emergency calls will experience delays during these times.

We wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July.
