Happy 4th of July- remember to leave the fireworks to the professionals. 
The Frankfort Police Department wishes to remind residents that by state law and Village ordinance most fireworks are illegal- mainly anything that is explosive. Legal devices in Illinois include snakes, party poppers, sparklers and snappers. As always voluntary compliance is appreciated. With that being said, if a person who calls the police wishes to act as a complainant the officer could issue a court citation or court notice. The fines range between $100 and $1000 per violation.
