4th of July Holiday Reminders
City offices, libraries, and community centers will be closed Wednesday, July 4, 2018, in observance of Independence Day. Parking enforcement to accommodate street sweeping will be SUSPENDED for the day. All other parking laws are in effect. Street sweeping will resume on Thursday, July 5th.
Fireworks of any kind are ILLEGAL in Daly City. In California, it is a misdemeanor to possess illegal fireworks. This could be punishable by a fine of not less than $500, and no more than $1,000 or by imprisonment in a county jail for up to one year. We take this very seriously. In addition, parents may be held liable for any damages or injuries caused by their children’s use of illegal fireworks.
When reporting illegal fireworks, please use the police business line (650-991-8119). Tying up 911 lines for non-emergencies, especially with the volume of calls on July 4th, places lives in danger.
