DETAILS:  Ptl. Crawford responded to a motor vehicle crash near Southfield Rd. and Bennington Dr.  A black 2011 Dodge Ram drove off of the roadway and crashed into a tree causing heavy damage to the front of the pickup truck. The driver, Austin McGinley, was determined to be DWI. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Jany investigated a Theft where the following was reported: While shopping at the Woo-Ri Mart located in the Windsor Plaza, the victim went to the women’s restroom where she placed her purse down. When she went to pay for her groceries, she realized that she had left her purse in the restroom. She found her purse, but $240.00 in cash was missing from it.

DETAILS:  Ptl. LaForge was detailed to the Mercer County Community College for a subject being detained by campus security for burglary and theft. Investigation revealed the following: Campus security received an alert that a projector in a classroom located in the Liberal Arts building had been disconnected from their network. Commander Flaherty from security responded to find Michael Gordon standing on a chair directly below where the projector had been mounted to the ceiling. The Hitachi projector valued at $1,200.00 was found concealed in a bag. Gordon was also in possession a pair of specially modified cutting pliers in his back pocket that he used to cut the projector free.
     Since the College had been experiencing similar thefts of electronic equipment (including laptop computers) from classrooms since February, Detectives Jason Jones and William Jones responded to the scene investigate. Gordon was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.  
     After a thorough follow-up investigation by Detectives J. Jones and W. Jones, they were able to determine that Gordon had been involved in seven (7) other thefts of electronics from the College dating from between February 23, 2018 and May 18, 2018. On 6/08/18, Gordon was arrested and charged with the additional thefts. Most of the stolen property was also recovered for the College.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Silcox was detailed to the Home Depot for an employee who was being detained by Asset Protection for theft. Investigation revealed the following: Semei Mitchell was employed by the Home Depot as a cashier. Between the dates of April 15, 2018 and May 22, 2018, on thirteen separate occasions, Mitchell was observed via store video surveillance taking over $1,200.00 in cash directly from his register till and concealing it on himself. Mitchell was processed at WWPD Headquarters. He was released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifter who was fleeing from store Asset Protection. Ptl. LaTorre located Richard Wolfmuller exiting from the Panera Bread restaurant and took him into custody. According to Wegmans Asset Protection, Wolfmuller walked throughout the market selecting various meats, seafood, and produce. He then went to an empty aisle where he concealed all the food items (valued at $383.34) into reusable shopping bags. He was confronted as he exited the market, at which time he ran away dropping the stolen items in the parking lot. Wolfmuller was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Buchanan investigated the theft of a bicycle where the following was reported: The victim left his bicycle on his front yard without securing it. When he came back outside, his bicycle had been stolen. A white Schwinn bicycle had been abandoned nearby in the bushes. The stolen bicycle (unknown brand) was described as a blue, having a fixed gear, and 20 inch wheels.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to Walmart for two shoplifters who fled from the store. Walmart Loss Prevention followed one of the suspects who entered the Target store. Ptl. Fiore, Ptl. Mahon, and Walmart Loss Prevention located Thomas Jackson in Target and he was taken into custody. Investigation revealed the following: Jackson and another Black male suspect entered the store pushing shopping carts. They filled the shopping carts with over $900.00 dollars worth of merchandise, and then left the store through a side emergency exit door. Loss Prevention stopped them outside and they abandoned the shopping carts full of merchandise. The other suspect could not be located. Jackson was found to be a “Wanted” person by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and later transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Buchanan and Ptl. Abade were detailed to Princeton-Hightstown Rd. in the area of Slayback Dr. for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed the following: A white 2017 Honda Accord had driven across Princeton-Hightstown Rd. going in the wrong direction, then went partially off the roadway and struck two mailboxes before coming to a stop facing in the wrong direction in the roadway. During the crash investigation, Karelyne Vargas, was determined to be DWI. She was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Nagy was detailed to the Mercer County Park, Boathouse Marina, for an aerial drone (aka. Unmanned Aircraft System / UAS) that was being flown intentionally in and around people. This same drone had been observed in the area on two other days, each time being flown in a manner that disturbed and alarmed visitors at the park. A suspect was subsequently identified by Mercer County Park Rangers. Investigation determined that the suspect’s drone, a Mavic Pro, was not registered with the FAA as required by Defense Reauthorization Bill HR2810, Section 1092, which states that any UAS weighing between .55 pounds and 55 pounds must be registered. The suspect was given a verbal warning and released from the scene. A drone report was completed and submitted to the FAA.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Zicha initiated a stop on a blue 2007 BMW sedan for failing to maintain its lane of travel. During the stop, Derrell Peterson was found to have a suspended driver’s license. He also had a warrant for his arrest from Willingboro, NJ for $2,500 bail, and another from Carlstadt, NJ for $150 bail. Peterson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates in the courts of West Windsor, Willingboro, and Carlstadt.
