Unusually high volume of motor vehicle thefts in Cass County
Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff's Office would like to advise of a unusually high volume of motor vehicle thefts in Cass County. Over the last week the Cass County Sheriff's office has taken 9 reports throughout Cass County of Motor Vehicles being stolen. Those vehicles were taken from Silver Creek Twp, Calvin Twp, Penn Twp, Mason Twp, Volinia Twp and Newberg Twp. Keys were left in those vehicles, the vehicles were unlocked. Vehicles were recovered in these incidents but items from inside had been taken. Sheriff Behnke reminds everyone to not leave your keys or any other personal item's in your vehicle even if it is in your driveway or garage. Items should be placed in the trunk or taken into the house with you. Criminals are always looking for easy item's to steal and we are asking the citizens of Cass County to be aware of the current problem.
