Traffic stop leads to the arrest of Jasper woman on multiple charges.

On July 1, 2018, at 8:49 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Silver 2000 Dodge Stratus after the vehicle was traveling left of center on Brumfield Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith attempted to identify two females in the vehicle, but a passenger in the vehicle began to act erratic and would not cooperate with Deputy Smith’s investigation. The passenger gave a false name in an attempt to hinder Deputy Smith’s investigation, but was identified as 20 year old Cassidy Engleman of Jasper. During his investigation Deputy Smith discovered that Ms. Engleman had active Felony warrants through Dubois County for Trafficking with an inmate, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Synthetic Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia. At that point Deputy Smith transported Ms. Engleman to the Gibson County Jail where she was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, False Identity Statement, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Paraphernalia with a Prior Conviction, and Possession of Marijuana. She remains in the Gibson County Jail with a $750 bond and a hold out of Dubois County.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Special Deputy Tyler Martin
