Pursuit ends with arrest of Haubstadt man on multiple charges.

On June 29, 2018, at 3:58 p.m. Deputy Tyler Martin attempted to stop a Gray 1996 Ford Explorer for traveling Westbound in the Eastbound lane of County Road 250 South. While following the vehicle Deputy Martin observed the vehicle speed up and fail to maintain a consistent lane of travel. At that point Deputy Martin attempted to initiate a traffic stop and a short pursuit occurred. Ultimately the vehicle stopped at a residence near County Road 550 East and the driver 44 year old John Vaught of Haubstadt was taken into custody. After a roadside investigation was conducted Mr. Vaught was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Law Enforcement (Fleeing). Mr. Vaught remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Martin in his stop were Captain Bryan Ellis, Princeton Officer Jeremy Robb, Oakland City Officer Grant Fulkerson, and Francisco Officer Michael Collins.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
