Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crimes Bureau, Burglary-Robbery Task Force (BRTF) are Behind the Scenes Heroes you won't see in uniform, and are usually unseen by the public while they work diligently to make a difference in many neighborhoods across LA County. Residential “Knock-Knock” type burglaries are something they take very seriously, and want to protect your community as if it was their own.
BRTF detectives observed three suspects commit a residential burglary in San Pedro, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at approximately 1:15 p.m. They believed these suspects were likely related to numerous recent Los Angeles Countywide residential “Knock-Knock” type burglaries. Detectives saw the suspects, who were in a grey Hyundai sedan (rental vehicle), slowly driving through neighborhoods. The vehicle then parked along the curb near the 1200 block of West 18th Street, San Pedro. After a few minutes, they watched two suspects emerge from the rear yard of a nearby residence. Both suspects quickly ran to the awaiting rental vehicle and drove away.
As this transpired, BRTF Investigators coordinated with officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Harbor Division, who were nearby, to assist. As the suspects drove away, BRTF Investigators confirmed that the residence had in fact been burglarized, evident by a smashed rear door window and the home being ransacked.
LAPD Officers responded along with BRTF and initiated a high risk traffic stop of the suspect vehicle which had parked along a curb a short distance away. Two adults and one juvenile were detained inside the vehicle. Stolen cash and jewelry was recovered within the vehicle that was confirmed to be stolen from the residence.
The suspects were arrested, transported to, and booked at the LAPD Harbor Division Jail.
Suspect Isaac Myrick (driver), male Black 22 years-old and resident of Los Angeles, was booked on charges of Residential Burglary (459 PC), and is being held without bail.
He is also on active parole for several armed robbery convictions and has an extensive criminal history, including burglary, assault, and receiving stolen property.
Suspect Kevin Johnson, male Black 22 years-old and resident of Downey, was booked on charges of Residential Burglary (459 PC). He was additionally charged for an outstanding warrant, and is being held without bail.
The warrant was issued for violating terms of his parole related to previous burglary convictions, and has multiple previous arrests for burglary and evading police.
The juvenile subject, male Black 17 years-old, was arrested and released pending juvenile court proceedings.
Our initial investigation led us to this suspected crew, which came out of Pico Rivera last month. We believe they have been actively committing residential burglaries for several weeks, if not longer, all over LA County. We have yet to link them to specific additional burglaries, however, once our ongoing investigation is completed, we are confident we will link the suspects to additional crimes.

The LASD MCB Burglary-Robbery Task Force was formed over eight years ago to combat the ever increasing trend of organized crews who are committing daytime residential burglaries.Typically known as “Knock-Knock” burglars, these crews, often formed by gang members, utilize high-end luxury vehicles to blend into middle class and affluent neighborhoods where they break into homes and businesses, ransacking and stealing valuables such as cash, jewelry, and weapons.
