Sheriff Richard Behnke reports his office was contacted by a concerned citizen reporting a driveway scam. The citizen stated that the subjects stopped at their home and quoted them a low price to seal their driveway. The subjects then began work, but told them it would be 5x-10x the cost originally quoted. The citizen was not given a written quote for services or provided any ID as to the company the contractor was with.

The subjects are said to be two Hispanic males, driving a newer Dodge Ram pickup, Black in color. The plate was blocked by a tarp/carpeting and no logo was displayed on the vehicle. The subjects claimed to be from San Antonio Texas.

Sheriff Behnke urges caution when dealing with unsolicited contractors. Legitimate contractors will provide a written estimate and have identification with them for their business.
