TYPE OF INCIDENT: Highland Avenue – Soccer Celebrations

Details:

After the past two soccer games, soccer fans began to congregate on Highland Avenue to show support for the team. While most fans have celebrated in a peaceful manner, unfortunately, some fans have chosen to leave the safety of sidewalks and parking lots to celebrate in the roadways in traffic. These types of actions are not only dangerous for fans, but motorists who may have to maneuver around fans and other vehicles.

These types of celebrations impact local businesses, commuters, and public bus transportation.

We request the cooperation of soccer fans to celebrate responsibly and safely, to minimize the impact on others.

On camera interviews will be available on June 26, 2018 from 1:30 to 2:30PM in both English and Spanish.
