The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

June 25th

0654 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated an auto burglary on the 37100 block of Saint Mary Street. The loss is tools and miscellaneous equipment.

0700 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated a burglary to a storage trailer at Tru Mark Homes on Willow Street. The loss is construction tools.

0807 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a theft from an unlocked vehicle on the 36500 block Jennifer Street. The loss is miscellaneous documents.

1436 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated a hit and run accident on Cedar Boulevard at Thornton Avenue.

0041 Hours: Officer Geser observed a suspicious vehicle on Baine Avenue near Birch Street. Officer Geser’s investigation revealed that the vehicle had false registration. During an inventory search prior to towing the vehicle, Officer Riddles located drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The suspect, a 55-year-old Newark Male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
