Northwestern Caldwell County in western North Carolina...
Avery County in western North Carolina...
Buncombe County in western North Carolina...
Yancey County in western North Carolina...
Northwestern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 359 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 4 miles north of Beech Mountain to 11 miles
northwest of Marion to 6 miles south of Marshall, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
Downtown Asheville, Marion, Spruce Pine, Burnsville, Newland, East
Asheville, West Asheville, North Asheville, Black Mountain and
Woodfin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned
area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
