Suspects Arrested in connection to an attempted Carjacking and Shooting.

On June 1, 2018 at approximately 4pm two suspects attempted to rob and carjack four people as they sat inside their vehicle on Wilson Street at Bell Avenue. During the attempted robbery and carjacking, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the driver. After the shooting, the suspects fled on foot while the driver managed to start the vehicle and drive away. The driver suffered a non-life threatening injury as a result of being shot.

Investigations Bureau detectives began working the case and through their investigation they identified the suspects responsible. On June 20, 2018 detectives arrested 18 year old Isaiah Taylor (PICTURED) of Fairfield on numerous charges related to the attempted carjacking and shooting. Taylor was out on bail for a June 14, 2018 arrest by Fairfield PD officers for possessing a semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine.

On June 21, 2018 detectives served two search warrants related to this case. The first location was on the 1200 block of Essex Drive and the second location was on the 1100 block of Tanglewood Drive.  During the service of the search warrants the second suspect, a 16 year old Fairfield juvenile, was also arrested in connection to the attempted carjacking and shooting.
