Deputies discover three rifles buried in a backyard during the service of a search warrant

DATE/TIME: June 21, 2018, 8:10 a.m.

INCIDENT: Felon In Possession of Firearm

LOCATION: 25000 Block of Fisher St., Highland

SUSPECT(S): Fernando Archila, 43 of Highland, Veronica Ramos, 51 of Highland, Andrew Archila, 24 of Highland and Cheyenne Norman 25, of Highland.

SUMMARY: On Thursday, June 21, 2018, at approximately 8:10 am, deputies and detectives from the Highland Police Department responded to the 25000 block of Fisher Street to serve a search warrant for illicit drug sales at a residence. During the service of the warrant, three rifles were found buried in the backyard. During the investigation, it was determined one fo the rifles was stolen during a residential burglary in the Twin Peaks area. In addition to the rifles, ammunition, narcotic paraphernalia and an explosive device were located. Bombs and Arson responded to retrieve and process the explosive device.

Fernando Archila was arrested on numerous charges including being a felon in possession of firearms and being in possession of a stolen firearm. Veronica Ramos was arrested for possession of an explosive device, Andrew Archila and Cheyenne Norman were both arrested for active warrants. All interior suspect were booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
