***A MESSAGE FROM CHIEF OF POLICE JOSEPH HOEBEKE TO HOLLIS RESIDENTS LIVING IN THE AREA OF THE HOLLIS BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL AND HOLLIS BROOKLINE MIDDLE SCHOOL***

UPCOMING POLICE TRAINING BEING HELD AT HOLLIS BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL

June 21, 2018
Dear Hollis Resident,

The Hollis Police Department will be hosting an area wide Active Shooter training program at the Hollis Brookline High School football field area the week of July 9-13, 2018, from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be law enforcement agencies from across the States of New Hampshire and Massachusetts in attendance. As a result, you will see an increased amount of police vehicles at the Hollis Brookline Middle School and the Hollis Brookline High School for this training. Additionally, you may hear the sounds associated with blank rounds discharged from firearms and the yelling of commands as course participants navigate through mock training scenarios. Live ammunition will not be used for these exercises.

I wanted to make aware of this training prior to its start date so you were not alarmed by what you might see or hear. I respectfully ask you to stay away from the following areas during the dates and times listed in the first sentence of this letter:

• Hollis Brookline Middle School fields.
• Hollis Brookline High School track and football field.
• Hollis Brookline High School soccer and baseball fields.

I also ask that you share this with any other family members, including children, so that we can avoid any interruption with this training. Sadly, this is the ability for us to facilitate such training is important as it is aimed at providing first responders with the appropriate level of tactical skills needed to respond to and mitigate the challenges associated with an active shooter/active threat event.

If you have any questions or concerns about this training, please do not hesitate to contact Master Patrol Officer Richard Bergeron at (603) 465-7637. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation and patience.

Sincerely,

Joseph R. Hoebeke
Chief of Police
